Wake Up Call: Live it Before it’s Gone

My Wake-up Call

Stop waiting for the perfect time to do things, and make the time perfect for you. To appreciate life, sometimes you have to lose, in order to gain; accept losing old friends and some family members.  Soon you will recognize and appreciate authenticity within yourself and in others; be broke for a while, to understand the value of money, how to make it work for you and you not work for “it”; be single for a while, to improve, love and appreciate yourself; be homeless for a moment to appreciate that it’s not about the size of the house, but about family, comfort, solitude and peace of mind when you walk through the doors. And those sleepless nights are special moments with God, for you to seek direction and know that His plan is way better than what was lost…I just want to get it right this time!

A New Perspective to Limitless Living

Welcome to my blog, a lifestyle guide to fearlessly, living and loving an adventurous, elite midlife, all with a sense of purpose!

Aging to me has become a trivial matter and I do understand that it’s non-negotiable. However, I also believe that life doesn’t have to unfold in no particular order. It’s heartbreaking that we live in a society where aging isn’t openly accepted; a path is dictated and most women and men internalize the belief and slowly become invisible the older we get. But that’s not my story, and it doesn’t have to be yours either. Society’s way doesn’t work for me and I’m on this quest to redefine what middle aging looks and feels like! Will you join me?

Come along as I share with you things I am passionate about, things that inspire me, and things that will enlighten and keep us all connected.

Overall, my true desire is to motivate you and inspire you to shamelessly embrace your ageless unique self, in this very moment, without any regrets or limitations.

So let’s make the best of it! Live and thrive like there’s no tomorrow!

Be EASY!

Defining Freedom

Freedom…….
To not give 2 shits about what you think of me. If I make a mistake, if I talk funny, if I talk too much, if I talk too fast, if I don’t talk enough, if I talk with my mouth full, if I act crazy, if I act silly, if I’m too moody, if I laugh out loud, if my answer is wrong. If I gain a little weight. If I fall asleep with my mouth open. If I trip over my own foot. If I dance crazy. If I sing off-key. If I sing the wrong words to a song. If I sing too loud. If I’m too abrasive. If I change my mind. If I don’t remember shit. If I’m not pretty enough. If I’m to ghetto. If I’m too Black Powerish. If I curse too much. Not intelligent enough. Not holy enough. Not Christian enough. Not classy enough. Not sharp enough. Not polished enough. Not young enough. Not nice enough. Not tall enough. Not small enough. Not smart enough. Not qualified enough.
Freedom is working on improving a few things that are not on this list.
Like me or not, I love me some me…and I’m FREE being ME.

Embrace The Middle Age of Happiness

As a woman now over 50, I’m really happy to be a part of this new breed of ‘age-nostic’. My desire has always been to make this aging thing look and feel good. I work at it every single day. I’m very careful with the energy I allow in my space, the information filtered through my mind, and the intake of nutrients for my body.
Unlike the previous generation, I refuse to allow society to define and constrict how I age. To embrace the so-called mid-life crisis with aging should be a privilege and should also be celebrated because not many are blessed to live beyond 50. So when young people stare at my grey strands and limited wrinkles, they ask my age with anticipation. I don’t hesitate. I’m grateful and I’m blessed to offer wisdom.

My new mantra:
I am a woman who doesn’t believes there’s an age limit to living, who’s never too old to kick some ass, and who doesn’t worship what the mirror says but dares to look it straight in the eye.
